Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 4, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to Packt ("we," "our," or "us"). Packt is a mobile application designed for organizing and participating in group rallies and rides. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
By using Packt, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Personal Information
- Email address - Used for account authentication
- Username - Your unique identifier within the app
- Display name - The name shown to other rally participants
- Profile image (optional) - Your avatar displayed in the app
- Account creation date - When you registered
Location Data
Important: Location sharing is disabled by default and requires your explicit consent.
When you participate in a rally and enable location sharing, we collect:
- Real-time GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude)
- Speed and direction of travel
- GPS accuracy information
- Timestamps of location updates
Rally and Activity Data
- Rallies you create or join
- Rally statistics (distance traveled, average speed, duration)
- Participation history
- Route information and waypoints
Audio Data
Important: Microphone access is only used during voice chat sessions and when you tap the Ride Mode button to ask a question, and requires your explicit permission.
When you join a voice channel during a rally, we process:
- Real-time audio from your microphone (transmitted to other participants, not recorded or stored)
- Voice channel participation status (connected, muted, speaking)
We do not record, store, or retain any voice audio. Audio is streamed in real-time between participants and discarded immediately after transmission.
When you ask a Ride Mode question, your speech is turned into text by your phone's own speech recognition (Google on Android, Apple on iPhone). It runs on your phone when your device supports it; otherwise your phone's speech service may process the audio under its own privacy policy. Packt never receives your voice audio, only the resulting text when the question is sent to PacktAI (see below).
PacktAI and Ride Mode
Quick Ride Mode questions (such as fuel range, distance left, next curve or sunset) are answered on your phone and nothing is sent to us. When you ask PacktAI something else, in the PacktAI chat or by voice in Ride Mode, we send:
- Your question, and your last few questions and answers in that conversation (so follow-up questions make sense)
- Your current location, if location is available
- In Ride Mode: your speed and direction, the next part of your route (up to about 50 km), remaining distance and arrival time, estimated fuel range, number of riders in your group and the next turn instruction
- Data PacktAI looks up to answer, such as your ride statistics, ride history, bikes and nearby places
This is processed on our servers and by Anthropic, our AI provider, to generate the answer. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models. We keep a daily count of your questions (for plan limits), and questions PacktAI could not answer or that failed (the question, the start of PacktAI's reply, the type of problem and your platform) so we can improve PacktAI.
Curve Warnings
To warn you about bends when you ride without a route, the app downloads road-bend data for the area around you, along routes you load and with offline map downloads, in squares of roughly 7 km. The data is stored on your phone so warnings work offline. We do not add these downloads to your ride history.
Usage and Device Information
- Network connectivity status
- Notification preferences
- App usage patterns
- Cached map tiles from OpenStreetMap
Business Listings and Offers
If you list a business on Packt, we collect what you enter:
- Business name, category, description, street address, country and map location
- Business contact details you choose to publish (phone, email, website)
- Opening hours, services, brands, prices, photos and offers
- Optionally, a company or trade registration number (to help us verify the business)
- If you link your listing to an existing biker stop or map place, a reference to that place
This information is public: it is shown to riders in the App and on packtmoto.app, and offers are shown in the Activity list of riders nearby. Two things are never published: your registration number and the email address of your Packt account. We use them only to review and contact you about your listing. We remove location and other metadata (EXIF) from photos you upload.
To show nearby offers in the Activity list, the App sends your device's last known location with the request. It is used only to find offers near you and is not saved to your account or profile.
Crash and Error Reports
To find and fix bugs, the app sends a diagnostic report to our own servers when it crashes or hits an error it recovers from. A report contains:
- Device model, operating system version, app version and build
- The error or crash details and the technical stack trace
- The app screen that was open and the last in-app steps before the problem (for example "opened ride details")
- Your account ID, if you are signed in
We do not add your location, messages, photos or contact details to reports. They are stored on our own servers and are not shared with third parties. Reports sent while signed out are not linked to an account; for abuse protection we keep a salted hash of the sending IP address for 24 hours, never the IP address itself.
Crash and error reporting is on by default. You can turn it off at any time in the app under Settings → Privacy → Send crash & error reports; the app will then ask you before sending a crash report.

- Provide real-time voice communication between rally participants (when enabled)

- GraphHopper - Route calculation for motorcycles
- LiveKit - Real-time voice communication (self-hosted). Audio is streamed peer-to-peer through our server and is not recorded or stored

These services have their own privacy policies governing the use of your information.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
